Boz　Scaggsは1944年、オハイオ州生まれ。オクラホマとテキサスで育つ。
69年にAtlanticから『Boz　Scaggs』でソロ・デビュー。
74年には『Slow Dancer』をヒットさせ、76年に、この【We're　all　alone】を収録したアルバム『Silk Degrees』を発表。
その結果、グラミー賞ベストR&B部門を受賞した。

白人ながら、彼の音楽はブラックの要素の R&B色が非常に強く、AORの代名詞とまで呼ばれた。

映画『大統領のクリスマスツリー』のテーマソング【Fade Into Light】は、彼が作った曲。

ちなみにこの(2007年)春、映画ホリデイが公開されるが、これで使われている『We're All Alone』は 77年に Rita Coolidgeがカバーしたもの。
